Post-op

This is Fei Fei (playing with a slinky) just after cleft palate reconstructive surgery that he was able to receive through Operation Smile, a fantastic non-profit organization that I had the fortune of fundraising for and traveling to China with in high school. Having gotten to know Fei Fei in the days before his surgery, I held his hand as he was put under anesthesia... and hung right on through the whole surgery until we wheeled him to his post-op bed.

He has a mischievous smile, twinkling eyes, and - as I learned all too well - a bit of a knack with my camera, which he turned on me a few times.

I wish him well.
